Each month the pantry distributes food boxes to local families in need. Our items come through a variety of organizations. Our pantry participates in the USDA Commodity Program, God's Food Pantry, Local Food Drives, Feed the Children, and Servants of Our Lord. Distribution times are announced on local media.
Senior Commodities are for seniors 60+ and older. To acquire senior access, you must complete an application. Once approved, this application will then be approved. The commodity boxes arrive the third Thursday of the month, and is served after 12:30PM. Each box contains a balanced supply of food. If you and your spouse- both are 60+ and qualify- you each may get a box.
Emergency Food Boxes
Emergency boxes are just that, boxes made up for families that face a food crisis. These boxes are made up on an individual basis and come complete with items that can help a family with food for a couple of days. These boxes require our Director's approval and approval is given on a case by case basis.
Summer Food Program
Lakefront Church of God serves as a summer site that distributes food to families who can use the school lunch program to feed their children through the summer months during school summer vacation. Meals are transported to the church via van, and families can either come in and eat, or food may be taken out.
Surplus food are like potatoes, cabbage, carrots, watermelons, grapes, sweet potatoes, strawberries. All these foods have short shelf life and must be gotten rid of quickly. They are items that are brought to the church and opened for anyone to partake in. Please download our app to keep track of giveaway items.
